PETITION

We have requested  His Excellency the President of Fiji to appoint a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to look into all aspects of the current and past management of the FNPF.
We acknowledge that the Fund needs to be restructured, but dispute the need to slash pensioners incomes, particularly with the ever increasing cost of living.

To date our observations have resulted in the FNPF management agreeing not to cut the pensions of 10,836 pensioners at this time. However they currently intend to bring another 1209 existing pensioners into poverty by breaching the legal pension contracts that are presently in place and have been in place since those pensioners retired.

If you believe that there should be a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the FNPF, please add your name to our petition via the comments box.

Thank you.

    Dear Mr President,
    Republic of Fiji

All the Decrees in Fiji are issued under your name, even when you are absent from Fiji. Thus your office is being compromised by others. Is this how it was planned it to be? Are others manipulating your office? Is it just like the devious manipulation of the heritage of workers and pensioners of this country – the FNPF?

If the answer is yes to all of above, then any decent human being would think again. In places like Japan and France, a mere personal scandal or hint of bribery causes MP’s and politicians to resign from office forthwith – some even commite suicide !! Whoa !!

Can the same high moral value exist here in Fiji? Apparently NOT !! But we would like to think that the highest office in Fiji is well above such deviousness. The Presidencey should work for all in an even, fair and just manner, and not be just a rubber stamp on designs by others.

Will the President consider to act to stop the rape of our hard earned heritage – the FNPF ??? A simple statement from you personally would give thousands of citizens great solace and sense of pride in the country. Or will the Code of Silence that existed in other cases would continue to be applied to this cause of FNPF. Or is the crusade against HIV/AIDS just a show or window dressing?

All current workers and future pensioners look up to you now, PLEASE..

    Sincerely,

    Fiji Well Wisher.

Until the people come out from their culture of silence and ask how, why, when and where, being fooled by the powers that have been, the powers that be and the powers that will be, will simply be perpetuated ad infinitum!

They need to ask questions – look at the NBF saga – $250 million plus disappeared and NOT one person went to prison! Where did the money go? Did anybody ask? Did anybody care? Are we about to see that happen again with FNPF and this time we are not talking about millions but billions, or is everybody going to ‘roll over and die’ again, just like they did with the NBF saga whilst the perpetrators walk away again?

@ Talei Burness, Support the Coup some more. Where do you think the Govy will get their money from apart from Asia? Your Super!! A Coup is a Coup. There is no two ways about it. Bainimarama may have the ideologies of some Academics wet dream (AKA: Aiyaz) about being Multi-cultural (Thats fine and dandy, But do it the correct way), but once the government is smeared by the hands of the Military, everything is fair-game. How does it feel to get screwed over by the very Government you support?

Your Opinion: “Until the people come out from their culture of silence and ask how, why, when and where, being fooled by the powers that have been, the powers that be and the powers that will be, will simply be perpetuated ad infinitum! “.

Very good on the Latin (could have just said to infinity). Anyway the above remark is Irrelevant with PER in place. Your Generation aka (our parents) will have the culture of silence. Times are changing our Generation is more vocal than our parents. We do not condone any coups or coups of yesteryears when we were too young to speak out nor understand. So, is the NBF Saga. But we (Fijians) are speaking out, we are more vocal more educated.

Our parents Generation may have had the “Culture of silence” that you love to harp about. . Maybe the reasons why Locals have the “Culture of silence around you” is something to do with your personality and the way you write – shows an arrogant individual, who may live in Fiji but is disconnected with Fiji and perhaps only socialise with only a certain group of people (AKA the Elites in Fiji). Hence, you are out of touch. Instead of crying about this Culture of silence why don’t you understand it. I know alot of Fijian Women have an opinion. But they do it in a respectful way and they are not like you. You may have an opinion.. But sometimes Its wise to zip that GOB. As most of what you say makes you appear to be a Blond. As I have stated before:- It is pointless when you have a PER.
